Some interesting thoughts from Noel Piper on why she and John did not talk about Santa with their kids.

At the age of ten I found out there was no Santa. Throughout the years friends would tell me he was fake, I would ask my parents, and they would continue to tell me he was real. I caught my dad one Christmas Eve to confirm my suspicions. So, I figured that people celebrated Jesus at the same time so he must be a fake figure as well. It had a huge influence on me being agnostic for 8 years following before becoming atheist in college and ultimately being found by God late in college. I have many other reasons why we do not celebrate santa with our kids (many included in this article). Thanks for posting it!
Although I am not sure I am a huge fan of the language she uses in her first line about fairy tales but I know what she meant.
